Annual Commemoration of the Battle of Kororāreka at Maiki and Christ Church

A vandalised Pou didn't stop Kororāreka Marae whanau, Kawiti descendants, Government representatives and members of the New Zealand Navy, Army and Police from gathering on Maiki for the annual commemoration of the Battle of Kororareka of 1845. The party then went to Christ Church to honour the fallen of both sides at the Kohatu and Hazard Grave, and then to the marae where the Kara was raised instead of on the maunga.
